RosaPalustris
About 1990, I bought a ‘Peace” rose and planted it at my family place in zone 4 NY. I was shocked to learn that rabbits love fresh shoots and deer eat the rest of the plant to nubbins. I also learned that zone 4 is too cold for unprotected HTs.
So I started to learn about roses and visited Malcolm Lowe in NH and he introduced me to old garden roses. Over the years I’ve grown hundreds of roses and even germinated many OP seeds. The most prolific mother was ‘Nitida’ and I have been enjoying the robust progeny for well over a decade.
