Hey Jonathan, you also talk abiut rosa palustris, the swamp rose. If I understood correctly, this rose won’t rot if the roots stand in water, e.g. during winter time. But can it handle heat as well, or does it really need moisture and a lot of rain?

Correct, R. palustris will grow (and thrive) in standing water. It can handle heat just fine, the one in that video is planted in sandy soil that is often very hot due to the black weed block (summers in South Carolina reach triple digits).

It is happier with moisture, but performs fine in well-drained, acidic soils.
