Update on the Rosa virginiana hybrids lines

Thanks every one , I have put the breeding on the bottom of the pic so you can check it out. A few of these have been crossed over Hybrid Musks, Hybrid Multiflora and the Kathleen X Pauls Himalayan Musk Rambler I have.

Rain Bird looks like it has so-o-o much potential. Love it!

Thanks Jr.
I sent over to Europe last year, although it flowers once it purpose is to be grown in the Scandinavian countries. It produces large amounts of hips.

Your hybrids are gorgeous!!!

Beautiful! An impressive achievement!

Thank you JT
Thank you David, this represents a lot of work which has been a pleasure to do. I have seedlings growing from seed given to me from Joe, Metis, Anne Endt, R. nitida, R. foliolosa, Ross Rambler No.4 and Jackies [(R. calocarpa x R. nutkana) x R. acicularis], which have been put on to F2/F3 Hybrid virginiana’s. This Spring is going to be an interesting one indeed.

Seedling O39 P47 looks very promising to breed with!! nice color and very good foliage

Warren, where did your original virginiana come from? Was is a single cultivar?

Don, the R.virginiana was bought from a rose nursery here in OZ , it was a single. When it was crossed with Kordes Sympathie, the offspring varied from singles , semi doubles and a full double pink , all ,only bloom in the Spring.
