The 5th International Symposium on Rose Research and Cultivation

Is anyone on the forum going?

It would be great fun to revisit Gifu.

The gardens there are really spectacular and one of the largest in all of Japan.

When we visited there during the last WFRS, the gardens were lovely, but I imagine that during this symposium, it was planned in such a way that even more roses would be in bloom.

There is even a little train that takes you around the gardens.

The plots are arranged in such a way that as you walk along the various paths, you ‘discovery’ hidden gardens with water features or statuary.

There is a skyway overlook that is not for the faint-hearted that Larry enjoyed. An elevator takes you to the top and the overlook cantilevers over the gardens for a spectacular view of the gardens below.

The education building has seedlings growing on the roof so there isn’t any wasted space.
