Rugosa foliage in f1 hybrids pod vs pollen parentage

I found Therese Bugnet a weirdo to work with — its offspring mostly looked like subtle variations on itself. I still have two and they look practically indistinguishable from TB. I forget what the other parent was. I was disappointed enough by the results I got that I quickly abandoned Therese Bugnet as a parent.

I found the “Jamie” (Dening) a curiosity of a TB op, and kept for 10 Years so far - chap owned a nursery… in my climate its slightly bigger than a minature but works in cold to freezing garden as an up front border rose. Finder claims 4-6 feet but lives in lotus land. Darker fuller blooms and gone in 48 hours or less from opening.

Potentially it’ll be fruitless but I’m just exploring TB (and RdlH and SVF) largely due to the studies of KSNcopia (and simply because of what’s available here), if modern juvenile rebloom can be isolated in that general area and if fertility is there…then maybe can backcross it into more reliable rugosa varieties and start sibling crossing those just to see what happens. It’s more just exploring that curiosity of theory (because I know I’ll keep coming back to think about it as long as I’m breeding roses…it’s all those “what if?” thoughts)
