Rosa rugosa f. alba x Golden Chersonese

That’s exactly what I was thinking with the sweet corn this year… I was afraid the egg spray would bring in all the raccoons in the area. But I had to risk it because the deer were systematically stripping all the rows. I tossed egg shells all over the ground hoping that anything attracted would assume that’s what the smell was all about… the crazy games we play!!!

As a lot of people are having critter problems, how would a decent “Electric Fence” go to stop them

Perhaps, for deer, David. Short of enclosing the plants completely, above and below ground in screen, nothing works on moles, voles, gophers, rabbits and squirrels. I’m really TIRED of those vermin eating everything. It sometimes just doesn’t feel worth fighting them.

Maybe a cut out of a coyote might do it

I doubt it. The molded plastic owls don’t work, either. Been there, done that. The rabbits sat at the base of the pole it was mounted on, eating my garden and watching the owl. It has to smell like the predator and if it’s not the real thing, it has to chase them as the real one would. Otherwise, they quickly learn to ignore it. A coyote gets into the back yard sometime over night because he leaves me “presents”. They’re MUCH larger than either of our dogs can accomplish and they aren’t permitted out back as they are too small and the area far too large and unprotected. Doesn’t do a bit of good. Things still get eaten and the squirrel still makes off with parts of the roses for nest building.

Piano wire at the entrance of holes. Here we have had success with crows by painting them white, the rest chase them as there are no albino crows.
