Ploidy of Stars 'n' Stripes

Does anyone know the ploidy of Stars ‘n’ Stripes?

Thanks,

Jinks.

That’s a good question. On one side of its pedigree you have a lot of diploids, and on the other, two tetraploid grandparents. While anything is possible, it is quite likely that it is a triploid. The fact that it is almost solely pollen fertile supports this likelihood.

Hi Paul,

That’s what I figured; but I was hoping it was triploid so needed reassurance I wasn’t just fooling myself.

I’m debating buying it to try and introduce striping to diploid polyantha’s.
