Most of you have probably already played around with the site a bit and found that you can edit your profile. If you haven’t seen this, it is easy to create/edit a signature line to add a quote, or to give identifying information like geographic location, or climate zone.
It’s a great feature to help folks learn a little about you.
If you have a long “signature” (i.e. include a quote) you might consider using a smaller font for the signature – this may help others to navigate your posts a little easier. (These “signatures” will be in every post you create!)

Interesting, there must have been a change in the Sunset Zones. Previous editions listed this approximate area as 14, now it’s an 18/19 hybrid.

Sunset has done as respectable a job as humanly possible, given the extreme variability of it all, in separating the various zones and providing at least some information about what should work where. But, there are just so many blamed variables and the climates ARE changing, for whatever reason, it makes it rather dicey sometimes.

Sunset zones do make a lot of sense except that interpreting the number requires having a reference on hand. They aren’t as intuitive as, for instance, listing “hardiness zone, heat zone, precipitation pattern…” and other such individual climate references.
Kim, when the USDA re-tabulated data several years back, New Orleans shifted one zone warmer in the revised map. I hadn’t considered that the Sunset zones would have changed as well. …For you, four or five whole zones no less (whatever the heck that means…)
Yeah… Sunset zones definitely have their limitations.
Oh, how bizarre… I didn’t seem my “signature” on previous post…
I’m on Chrome. Does that have anything to do with this? I gather I’m supposed to see a check-box next to “Add my signature…” beneath the “Options:” heading when composing a message? My computer is not displaying such.
