As I write up my germination notes, I need help to ID a couple of the CV that I was testing. Pictures are attached in what I hope is the happy format.
First up is Founders Hill pink. The photo shown is from October of this year showing ripe hips in abundance, and a newly opened flower. This grows as a floribunda type in an apartment complex F.H. Not over 2 ft hi or wide. It survived -10 F last winter with no protection other than whatever snow didn’t blow away. It gets to be fairly leafless by end of season in some years, not so bad this fall. The hips have resemblance to Chuckles which grows on campus, flower is same sized but with a very distict eye. Bush is considerably smaller than Chuckles. F.H. pink is under maybe 6 yrs. Several other CV grow at the same complex including some Meidilands.

Second is Pittman red, a bright red large shrub growing near Pittman Hall on campus. Bush reaches 4 ft, has decent crop hips if not pruned off by grounds crew, but not near so highly fertile as F.H. pink. Very strong color right through early frosts. Well irrigated so in continuous bloom. Glossy foliage, no disease with purportedly no spray.

Finally a rugosa that I gave my mother about 30 yr ago, maybe Hansa. Does well in PA, not in KS.

This system is certainly easy. Congratulations to the programmers in the machine.
