I have approximately 30 hybrid tea roses from various growers. I have a Lady Dianna which has grown a strange stalk or stem that is completely covered with thorns I’m talking 100’s along the stem, the new leaves looked normal dark purple but never unfurled completely. This stem bloomed this past weekend. The rose was of the proper color and size however the edges of all the petals were jagged and had streaks in the color. Does anyone have any idea what could have caused this or what it may be ? The rest of the bush including the strange area is very healthy and has been a very good bloomer.
