Hormone sprays to improve seed set?

Is anyone using hormone sprays to try and increase seed set of difficult crosses? I recently read a paper where they used a spray of gibberellin and cytokinin to successfully cross two species of ipomoea which normally won’t cross, and it seems like it could be very useful for those crosses with parents who just don’t seem to like to set seed. Has anyone tried it with roses – or anything else?

Thanks Henry! Any personal experience to report?

I have used the cytokinin sprays; I feel that they help. See some comments on a commercial tomato spray at:
