Have hardwood cuttings from (probable) tetraploid rugosa

I have a two year old rugosa seedling–Rugosa #3–that I believe is tetraploid based on pollen diameter and leaf morphology. It is a single pink that sets lots of OP hips and also seems willing to accept foriegn pollen. It bloomed for the first time last year, and the seeds from last year have begun to germinate. I need to prune the plant, and will have enough hardwood cuttings to share with a few people.

I would be willing to send cuttings in exchange for postage AND updates on how well the plant grows in your climate and performs as a parent.

Joan,

I’d like to take you up on your offer. My climate zone is USDA 9B, Sunset 16/17. We have little blackspot, but lots of powdery mildew, downy mildew, and rust. Many hybrid rugosas suffer from rust here. What are the parents of your seedling? Please email me your address and how much you’d like for postage.
