I found this sprouting seedling the other day ago while cleaning out some of the pots of old leaves and other debris.

Gee whiz! Some of us struggle to get germination and you can get it without any effort and find it in the discard pile!!! Doesn’t seem fair…, but hope it turns out to be a great rose for you. Show us a bloom later.

I would give that roseling an A++ for vigor! Interesting to see what develops.

Oh, I agree with Jim, you need to plant that and see what it turns into. Anything that determined to grow deserves to be allowed to, lol!
Nature has a way of producing some determined survivors-looks like a survival of the fittest test going on there! Hope this determined sprout gets a chance.

The seedling’s fate is mentioned in the blog post (link at top of thread). It has several siblings sprouting in the greenhouse.
Aww, what a shame that it broke but I’ve had some in paper towel that grew together like that and I broke them trying to separate them too. They’re so tender it’s really hard to get them apart without damaging at least one of them.
