Abstract: “The article chronicles the history of rose breeding in Parkland, Alberta. Henry Marshall, head gardener at the Brandon Experimental Farm, started the Parkland rose breeding program in 1957. He introduced the first cultivar, Assiniboine in 1962 and the second cultivar, Cuthbert Grant in 1967. The article describes the Parkland series of roses.”
