The hybrid transplanted well to Colorado and is still very vigorous!
Welcome to Colorado! I live about an hour north of Denver. I’d love to see what you have there, but I don’t have experience in what you’re doing. It’s been an unusual long hot spell.
Great- now it’s not so leggy and you still should get blooms next season even if its one bloomer.
It is legging hard lol. I’ll have to get a picture, it really like to make a low and wide bowl shape. Hopefully I’ll be able to work with it next year, fingers crossed.
Here she is, super leggy and loving to spread horizontally. Been spotless all season though. Maybe seeing some signs of mildew as the weather cools down, which is kind of a bummer
.
Hmm, reminds me of one of Barney Gardner’s seedlings, Fallen Snow, we referred to that as “R. Kudzuii” as it began growing and never stopped.
Reminds me of a Kordes seedling! ![]()
That is pretty exciting.
Is it vigorous enough to be deemed a climber? (I suppose it’s too early to know, but odds are that it will bloom only on the ends of the canes and not carry blossoms along it’s full height.)
Congratulations! Have you any idea if that seedling is more fertile than it’s mother?
Honestly, it might be a little bit of a climber. It does grow fast once established.
As far as fertility, it’s unknown, buuuut it does have some great looking anthers and stamen that seem amenable to pollination. I will attempt some crosses this next year to see if anything takes.
Fingers crossed for you. I have yet to get takes on my E.A., but I admittedly need ro step up the irrigation.
