The reference on this rose implies it is descended from Roger Lambelin. I am not sure I like it but I’m always game for new ideas.
Check it out.

Is that the right link??? It goes to a hybrid persica with no references to Roger Lambelin???
Weird, no. Let me fix it. thats another one of the Peter James hybrids.
Try this link:
Hmmmmm… maybe in a massed display… or in a hyrib musk kind of plant… not sure I like it either… maybe it grows on you…
hybrid even…
Some kind of accomplishment, maybe, but not even vaguely appealing to my eye.
I would have thrown that one out…
Oh WOW. That looks fake! I like unusual colors, but that’s almost unreal.

You read my mind.
To me it looks grosssss
Its all too bad cause Art Nouveau (the era and design style) is pretty cool. It was the style that ended hard, dirty and cold industrial design, afterall.
Mind, I am personally fond of some of Peter J. James’ other hybrids… ‘Blue For You’ is cool…gets PM and blackspot here tho
I rather like the novelty, and I certainly would have kept it to play with if I had this as a seedling. Admittedly, it looks more like a zinnia than a rose, and well, I don’t suppose I’d have been inclined to run out and order myself one…
Still… you guys are a really tough crowd!
I was also thinking it looked liked a Zinnia too. I might have kept it to breed with.
I was actually disappoined with the name of it because it really doesnt capture what the style of art nouveau is. This rose would be more like pop art or some of the other more odd styles post-WW2 and pre-1980s.
I’ve seen some photos of this one or another of Peter James’ that show the stripe down each petal more refined and even. The photos on HMF don’t do it justice. It is kinda weird, but there might be something to it to use in breeding as Adam suggests.

At first I thought this was a seedling first photo, and I thought it has a lot of potential. After realizing that it is producing these ragged shapes for all the photos, what I don’t like is the raggedness. But the color still has great potential. I could imagine something like this in a cleaner star shape and it would be quite Art Deco-esque.
Hideous.
It appears like it wanted to be a striped but couldn’t make up its mind. I don’t really care for it.
