Any merits to R. woodsii ultramontana?

The potential for leaf color is intriguing.

Right? I don’t grow Fedtschenkoana to have any idea what kind of ungainly architecture it might yield …and then there comes the issue of hanging an interesting flower on that… I’ve been wanting to obtain glauca, soulieana, and a few others so that I could play with foliar combos and try to get a cool-hued glaucous leaf. I had a tiny fedtschenkoana once, but was warned to keep it in a pot. I think it was shortly before Katrina and I was living in New Orleans. At any rate, it died from neglect while I was out of town (I think during evacuation) so I never saw it’s full potential, but at one point its pot was next to Reine des Violettes, and when RdV’s flower hung in front of R.f.'s foliage, I swooned. It’s been in the back of my mind ever since.
