I am so excited to have found this new bloom this morning.
It is a cross of Neptune X Rainbow Niagara X Pope J. Paul II. It has a really strong fragrance too.

Very sweet. Soft stripes & fragrance together!
Oh, that’s lovely! I’m sure subsequent blooms will get better!
Thanks Lydia and Fara. This bloom is about 2 inches across, though its really hard to tell until its about 2 years old to see what the blooms are really going to be. I notice when people admire a rose bloom the first thing they do is want to smell it, so fragrance is a plus for sure.
Fragrance is a big plus. Does it by chance smell like Pope Paul II or like Neptune? Pope Paul II has an incredible fragrance that fills a room, and I have wondered if it passes along its’ fragrance to offspring. When a client wants long lasting fragrant white cutting roses, its been failproof so far. Since I am curious about its’ ability to pass on good traits, are there any others that you may have noticed?
Hi Jackie, you know its funny but it smells a little like both PJPII and Neptune, they both have great fragrances.
As far as traits go my PJPII blooms do have a little yellow inside and as you can see from the pic this bloom does too. We will just have to wait and see what other traits it picks up from either parent.
I am so glad the foliage is not like Rainbow Niagara, though I know that is where the striping comes from. The foliage is very clean so far and Neptune and PJPII both get BS in my yard pretty badly.
