Title: EVALUATION OF THE RESISTANCE TO POWDERY MILDEW, SPHAEROTHECA PANNOSA VAR ROSAE, OF ROSE-TREE SPECIES AND HYBRIDS

Authors: F. Ferrero, P. Cadour-Marvaldi, E. Guilloteau, Y. Jacob, A. Coudret, H. Sallanon

Abstract:

“Diallel crosses, between 5 diploid species (sensitive or resistant) were made to study the segregation of resistance characters in hybrid populations. The effects of climatic conditions and abortions due to genetic incompatibilities lead to the loss of many fruits. Nevertheless, an hybrid seeds stock was set up especially from the crossings Rosa laevigata X Rosa rugosa, showing disjunction for expression of powdery mildew symptoms. This work reports the first results of powdery mildew resistance assessment, particularly in this hybrid population.”
