About The Rose Hybridizers Association

The Rose Hybridizers Association was created in 1969 by a small group of rose enthusiasts who needed a way to share information about rose breeding. They started a hand-written newsletter that they mailed from member to member. That grew into a typed newsletter, then mimeographed and then later “Xeroxed”.

Today members get the RHA Newsletter as a PDF. The entire set of past issues is available for purchase as an online download. Members can also opt for a full-color printed version

One of our members was awarded the coveted All-American Rose Selection (AARS, 1996) for his rose named St. Patrick. Another member was awarded both the AARS (2000) and the Anerkannte Deutsche Rose (ADR, 2002) for his rose named Knockout.

You don’t need to be a member of the RHA to join the discussions on our Forum - but you do need to sign up (it’s free!). If you are already registered at our old forum please set a new password using the password recovery link.

The Rose Hybridizers Association supports our members in several ways:

While some rose breeders find fame and fortune from their rose creations, most will not. Breeders do experience the wonder of seeing their own seedlings unfurl the petals of their first little buds, unique in all the world and possessed of boundless hope and promise.
